Please note, francisbrabazon.org retains the right to monitor and moderate any user-generated content and reserves the right to remove content for any reason whatever, without consent or notification.

Respectful civil discourse – our opinion

Well informed, coherent, thoughtful comments that are relevant to the article and topic, are polite, respectful, considerate, constructive, helpful, encouraging, and friendly. Also, please use your real name when commenting.

Our Policies and Guidelines

Monitoring & Moderation – Francisbrabazon.org exercises its right to moderate and monitor submitted comments and delete comments that violate the terms of use and/or guidelines and which we deem to be offensive or unsuited to the subject matter of this site. All comments are pre-moderated by staff before being published. It is our policy not to edit comments, but only to accept or refuse them.

Responsibility – Comment authors are solely responsible and liable for the content of their comments that end up being posted here. Please note, comments that appear on francisbrabazon.org are also subject to the site’s terms and conditions of use. And, the appearance of a comment on the site does not necessarily reflect the opinion or approval of francisbrabazon.org.

Spam & Links – Self promoting, gratuitous links in comments are viewed as spam and will result in deletion of the comment. We further reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove a user’s privilege to continue commenting on the francisbrabazon.org site.

We encourage commenters to the Francisbrabazon.org website to limit the number of links. Also to maintain quality to only content which is revealing, relevant, informative. Providing more ‘on topic’ and appropriate background or context about a particular perspective or topic.

Comments that regularly link to any site without providing context or adding value to the conversation (e.g. a link as a subject or as a signature at the end of every comment) are highly likely to be regarded as blatant self-promotion and spam, and be deleted.

Not toleratedWe will not accept any comments that demonstrate deliberate intent to create discord and argument via provocative and inflammatory comments. We regard that as trolling.

Also not tolerated – Comments that are or ‘look or sound’ like defamation, libel, slander … comments that are threatening, harassing, abusive… comments that promote hate of any kind, are disrespectful, obscene, disruptive.

Our general rule here is that comments should ‘play the ball, not the man’ i.e. not to attack someone personally but politely deal with the issue at hand or the position they are maintaining

Falsification – We take a dim view of deceitful and dishonest behaviour. e.g. individuals that use false identities or usernames, especially multiple false usernames. In such cases, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove a user’s privilege to comment on the francisbrabazon.org site.

Time lag: Comments made to francisbrabazon.org will not appear on the site until they have been reviewed by an internal moderator and approved to post. Please note, moderators are volunteers and not able to monitor on a 24 / 7 basis, comments may take 12-24 hours to be reviewed.

Support Questions: Please direct support questions to (to be advised). The comments area is not the right place for support questions requests or enquiries.

Languages: Our apologies, due to not having translators on staff we are also forced delete comments that are written entirely in another language or script.

Shouting: Comments that SHOUT, i.e. are WRITTEN ALL IN CAPS, will not be passed for publishing.

But, If your goals are heckling, flinging insults at fellow commenters or site moderators, then please save yourself the effort … because you will end up being blocked from commenting here if you repeatedly disrespect our policies and guidelines.

Site visitors and commenters are essentially guests in our home and you are most welcome. All we ask is for you to please behave as you would if you were actually sitting down with us in our lounge room, sharing a cup of tea or coffee and discussing the work of Francis Brabazon.
